About this archive

These are the Pontiac Township High School Music Department's own recordings from 2003 to 2005: the marching band DVDs, the concert, madrigal and honor band CDs, and a year of photos and video clips from 2003–04, saved from a keepsake CD the department sold for Music Boosters. By 2026 the discs were twenty years old and starting to fail, so they were copied, checked and put here for anyone who was there — or wants to hear what it sounded like.

What's here

• Marching band DVDs — the full videos as MP4, playable here or downloadable.
• CDs — every track in FLAC (lossless, CD quality) and MP3, plus whole-album ZIPs.
• 2003–04 photos & video — 1,312 photos and 429 short video clips, organized by event. They come from the music department's own website from that year, and the small camera clips were converted so they play in today's browsers.

How the discs held up

Most of it came through cleanly. Some discs had faded, and the copies were made by reading them many times over and keeping the values the reads agreed on. Where something could not be saved, it is listed rather than hidden.

• PTHS Music Department 2004–2005 — see “About this recording” on the album page.
• 38th Annual Madrigal Dinner — “Hope for Resolution” — see “About this recording” on the album page.
• Bradley University Symphonic Winds & High School Honor Band — see “About this recording” on the album page.
• 2003–04 photos & video — the edge of that disc had faded. Everything from Western Illinois Competition (Oct 11, 2003), Illini Marching Band Festival (Oct 18, 2003) and WIU Showcase & Honor Band (2003–04) was lost, along with a handful of photos and clips from other events.
